Meet fellow lake dwellers and accomplished photojournalists Bill and Diana Gleasner. Having known the Gleasners for many years, and knowing that they have spanned the globe writing and photographing travel articles, I wondered why they chose Lake Norman for their home. Recently I heard the story of how Diana found her “dream come true.”

December 16, 2010Lake Norman Reflections – A Book About Lake Norman
October 18, 2009Effective immediately and through the Christmas season, we have reduced our “Lake Norman Reflections” book from $34.95 to a total price of $30.00 including sales tax! The book makes a great Christmas gift and we wanted to make your shopping a little easier!
Lake Norman Reflections is the sequel to the original “Lake Norman The Inland Sea” book by Bill and Diana Gleasner. The original book about Lake Norman was published over 25 years ago and with over 25,000 copies in print is in most Lake Norman homes and through the surrounding area. The Gleasners, in their vision for “LakeNorman Reflections” wanted to create a coffee table book, not to just reprint the original book but to bring out something totally different with a different approach to show Lake Norman.
The new book tells the story of Lake Norman from the very beginning, through the communities and the activities around the lake, including the history and human-interest stories of those involved here. The beginning “The Red Barn and The Black Dog” is an interesting story of the headwaters and makes for a great introduction! The Gleasners’ expertise as well-known photojournalists is shown through the stories and photos, all of which are brand new and not seen in any previous Lake Norman book.
Lake Norman Reflections was over 18 months in the making, and countless hours invested in photography and writing, with the final product delivered to our area late last Fall. We were too late for the Christmas season, so we wanted to make the book available at a special price for this, our first exposure to the area.
Lake Norman Reflections is available in book stores through the Lake Norman area, or may be ordered directly by calling 704-309-7883 or . Total cost per book is $30.00 and payment may be by check, cash or credit. Shipping is available or may be picked up at the Hecht Development office on Highway 16 near Denver.
